A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce, first UK edition 1917
A Portrait, Joyce’s autobiographical novel, was first published in serial form by Harriet Weaver in The Egoist in 1914, and in book form by Ben Huebsch in New York in December 1916. The London edition followed in February 1917. The manuscript of the novel was given by Harriet Weaver to the National Library of Ireland. Acquired by DERTO for the Joyce Tower in 1987.
