National Heritage Week at the Tower

Aug 6, 2018

If you have not seen Paul O’Hanrahan perform his brilliant re-enactment of the Telemachus (opening chapter) episode of ‘Ulysses’, then we have a real treat in store for you!

As part of National Heritage Week, we have persuaded Paul to return to the tower to perform his much-lauded interpretation of the piece of literature that placed the James Joyce Tower & Museum at the very centre of the Joycean world.

This is a performance not to be missed. Once again, the tower becomes inhabited by Buck Mulligan, Haines and Stephen Dedalus as Paul brings the opening chapter of Ulysses to life.

Starting (as one should) atop our iconic tower, Paul breathes life into Joyce’s words as he entertains us by slipping into the characters from the text. We get to witness the interactions between the three men as described by Joyce and we get to follow Paul as he brings us through the opening of the novel and the tower inself finally leading us to the 40 foot where he, as Buck, takes a dip in the scrotum tightening sea!

Join Paul for one of his performances at 2.00 pm on Saturday 18th August or Wednesday 22nd August.

This is a free event and open to all.
