Joycenights Festival

120 years ago, in September 1904, James Joyce spent six nights in the Sandycove Martello Tower where he would set the opening episode of Ulysses. Join us in the James Joyce Tower for a festival of dramatic performances,readings and music to commemorate his visit.

Molly’s Soliloquy | Thursday 12 September | 7pm | €10

Reclining on a bed in the round room, Cáitriona Ní Threasaigh transports us to number seven Eccles Street as Molly Bloom reviews her day and, indeed, her life in this soliloquy from the final episode of Ulysses. Book here.

JoyceSong: Irish Songs of James Joyce | Friday 13 September | 7pm  | €10

The celebrated guitarist John Feeley and singer and Joycean scholar Fran O’Rourke will give a recital of the traditional songs (in English and Irish) that feature in the writings of James Joyce. Book here.

Finnegans Wake Fables | Saturday 14 September | 7pm | €10

The renowned actor Barry McGovern will read three of the fables included in the text of Finnegans Wake: The Prankquean, The Mookse and the Gripes and The Ondt and the Gracehoper. Book here.
