Original door of gunpowder magazine in the Joyce Tower

The bottom room of the tower was originally partitioned with brick walls separating the kitchen and fireplace from the magazine with its barrels of powder and cases of shot. The magazine door was sheeted with copper and had a copper lock and key to avoid striking sparks. The room was repartitioned in 1978.
