The Freeman's Journal 17 May 1904, in frame
A report of Joyce’s performance in the Feis Ceoil. Joyce hoped to win the contest, as John McCormack had done the year before, but declined the sight-reading piece and only won second place on a technicality. His fine tenor voice earned him a number of concerts during 1904, and his musical career had its high point on 27th August when he sang in concert with McCormack and J.C. Doyle. Presented by Michael Gilroy, from the collection of the late Kieran Hickey.
