TIME, The Weekly Magazine,Vol XXIII.5, Jan 29 1934, drawing of Joyce on cover

To mark the lifting of the ban on Ulysses in the USA and its publication there, TIME ran an article on Joyce and put his picture on the cover. Joyce was again featured in 1939 when Finnegans Wake was published. The two sessions with photographer Gisèle Freund produced the only known colour photos of Joyce. Given by Thomas Reilly of Tang, Co Longford.
