James Joyce's cabin trunk c.1931

With labels from his European travels. Joyce brought this trunk with him to London in 1931 on the occasion of his marriage, and gave it to his sister-in-law Kathleen Barnacle. It remained for some time in the Barnacle home in Bowling Green in Galway, and returned to London with Nora’s brother Thomas, whose daughter, Patricia Barnacle Hutton, presented it to the museum in 1984.
